Intended to promote discussion of the essentially unquantifiable nature of scientific computation and how it undermines the scientific method. With numerous examples, it demonstrates implementation independent behaviour in software systems and shows the results of very large experiments attempting to delineate the problem and suggest a way of re-aligning scientific computation with the scientific method.
