Embedded System Paranoia: results from real systems

WEBesp_results.pdf

Synopsis and invited feedback

Peer review is important and acquiring competent reviewers is becoming a major problem for the journals today so I will be very happy to include constructive comment (positive or negative) with acknowledgement. If I am not competent to judge your commentary I will try and find somebody who is.

If you would like to provide feedback just e-mail me here.

Synopsis Invited Feedback Importance (/10, author rated :-) )
Some results of running ESP on embedded control systems. None pass and some fail badly. There are some salutory lessons about arithmetic implementations here.

22-Jan-2007: Updated for results kindly supplied by Robert Searle of Tait for an embedded Linux PowerPC development platform and an Ubuntu Linux desktop.

12-Mar-2004: Lawrence Wilkinson of BAR f1 racing suggested a test for setjmp() where it is implemented. This has been implemented and PowerPC results added.
