Why oh why do designers not test their websites ? How do they expect ordinary people to manage or gain confidence in online shopping ?

Written after a mental battering administered by the Tesco online white goods website in July 2010. The men in the white van were great. The people who design and test the website were frankly hopeless. They should be taken away in a white van.
